The Office Team

Staff

All staff work on a part-time basis on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. They are:

Executive Director

Nickie Roberts joined the Trust in September 2009 in the new role of executive director. An important element of Nickie's role is to ensure the infrastructure and systems of the Trust are well established to allow it to grow successfully, to develop awareness of MSA and the work of the Trust and, importantly, to develop its range of services to support those whose lives are affected by MSA. Nickie has past experience of working in healthcare charities. As executive director, she contributed to the establishment and development of The Prostate Cancer Charity and The Blood Pressure Association. Before moving to the voluntary sector, she worked in public relations as Head of Communications at The Royal College of General Practitioners, and remains a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Information and Support Officer

Jackie Davis joined the Trust in April 2010 as its first staff member dedicated to coordinating and developing its information and support services. In this capacity, Jackie works closely with the MSA Specialist Nurses and volunteer Support Group Leaders; her work also covers the review and dissemination of materials on MSA to people whose lives are affected by it, as well as to healthcare professionals. Increasingly, Jackie and Nickie will be working on building the profile of MSA and the Trust to help reduce the isolation many people feel from living with a rare and largely unknown disorder, by improving the general public and medical community's awareness and knowledge of MSA.

Administrator

Lyn Shaw joined the Trust in July 2010 as its part-time Administrator. Lyn has extensive experience of office systems and contributed to the Trust as a volunteer before taking on her current position. Lyn works closely with Nickie and Jackie on all aspects of the Trust's work, and is key to the smooth running of the charity.

Fundraiser

The Trust is currently recruiting into this newly created position.

Samantha Pavey (R.G.N.) - MSA Specialist Nurse for the Southern Region

She has over 25 years of experience and has worked in neurology most of her career, including Atkinson Morleys Hospital in Wimbledon and later as a Ward Sister in Hertfordshire.
